Q & A with archaeologists

We asked a range of archaeologists questions about their archaeological experiences and perspectives. Most but not all of them have had or will have a connection with Zagora. They were told they didn’t have to stick directly to the questions but to use them as a guide to give you an idea of what it’s like to work in the field of archaeology.

Their answers reveal that they have in common a passion to understand our past and how it has influenced our present, and a sensitivity and feeling for how ‘objects’ can reveal how we lived long ago.

Surprising, perhaps, is how many realised their passion for archaeology at a very early age, and how valuable a knowledge of other languages is to the study of archaeology.
